Why I Teach:Yoga changed my life – it taught me how to calm my mind and connect with my body, the transformative power of breath, and that I can do hard things, both on and off the mat. I’m so happy to be a part of the Powerglow Family.
My interest in yoga directly correlates with my experience as a young student at an acting conservatory in NYC. Those years immersed in theatre gave me a unique perspective into the inner workings of body mechanics. Constant adaptations to help create characters allowed me the opportunity to try on new physical characteristics. Spinal flexibility gave me creative license and sparked my curiosity about what keeps us upright. Studying the Alexander Technique, Joseph Pilates repertoire and the Feldenkrais Method grew my interest and laid the groundwork to become a Yoga Teacher. If I didn’t learn it on the mat, my twin daughter’s arrival in 2004 helped with the other important life lessons! Whether I am teaching Yoga or Pilates, I utilize descriptive language, metaphors, and humor so you can relate and get a little lost in your movement appreciation. If we feel alive in our body, we can laugh deeply, love generously and be fully present in the moment.
